Two years.
The untrained teachers of the elementary level (lower primary and upper primary) in the state of Assam are eligible to take admission in the D. El. Ed programme of KKHSOU. However, they must be deputed by the Sarba Siksha Abhijan, Assam.
The District Mission offices (SSA, Assam) depute teachers from their respective districts and allots study centre to the respective to-be trainees. The trainees shall report in the study centre allotted to them by SSA.
KKHSOU shall admit the list of trainees deputed by the Axom Sarba Siksha Abhijan.
The trainee teachers who are selected by the government need not pay any course fee. However, they will have to pay an examination fee of Rs. 6,925/-

Two workshops, one in each year, will be organised in the Study Centres. The workshops will be conducted at the study centres during the summer vacation for twelve days in every year.
Yes, the participation of the trainees in all the activities of the workshop is compulsory.
It will be given one month prior to the commencement of the workshop. The workshop schedule will be uploaded in the website of our University.
The trainees will get the assignments in due time through their respective study centres or may download it from the website of our university.
Failing to submit the assignments on time, a trainee will not be allowed to appear in the term-end examination.
Transfer of study centre is subject to transfer of job. You have to apply to the Principal Coordinator, D. El. Ed programme, KKHSOU and submit a photocopy of your transfer order.
However, in any other cases except transfer of job, the trainee has to apply directly to the Mission Director, SSA, Kahilipara, Assam. The University shall give permission on the basis of the instruction from the Mission Director.
The trainees are expected to pass in all the courses in one sitting. In case of failure, two additional chances can be availed for clearing the courses.
However, all the chances of appearing in examinations shall be restricted within four years from the date of first admission.
The question paper will be provided in two languages: English and Assamese.
But there is a provision for the trainees to write in Bengali, Bodo and Hindi also apart from English and Assamese.
